How our LPA service works

We prepare your LPA

You must make an LPA while you still have the mental capacity to understand and approve it. Creating an LPA while you have mental capacity gives you control over who you trust to act for you, avoiding uncertainty and potential delays for your loved ones in the future. Note: To make an LPA, you must have the mental capacity to understand and approve it.

We register it for you

Once your LPAs have been completed and signed, we will submit them to the Office of the Public Guardian for registration. This is an important step that makes the LPA legally valid and ready to be used when needed.

For Property and Financial affairs, your attorney can begin helping you as soon as the LPA is registered if that is your wish or alternatively when you have lost capacity. For Health and Welfare, they can only start helping you once you have lost capacity

If the person has already lost capacity they are unable to give these powers to their desired attorneys through a Lasting Power of Attorney. We may be able to assist you with alternatives, please get in contact for more details.
